Hi there!

julia kingold eisch.

My name is

I am a foodie, cat mom, travel enthusiast and lifelong artist that loves to explore across various mediums. I have experience as a performer, printmaker, painter, drawer, potter, graphic designer and teacher.

I am incredibly passionate about art that tells a story, that can help us connect with our personal identity, culture, community and Creator.

Who is ‘Kingold’?

Kingold (“Kin-gold”) is the name of one of my ancestors who immigrated to the United States from Switzerland in the 1800s. I confess I don’t know much about her, but as the only sister among four brothers braving the journey to a new world, I have to believe she carried a certain kind of courage.

Names tell a story, and I believe there is beauty in honoring their history and meaning. As I researched possible origins and Germanic dialects of the name “Kingold,” I discovered roots tied to family, strength, and preciousness:

Kin– / Kün– / Kun– → family, kin, clan

–gold / –golt → gold, bright, precious

–gund / –gunde → battle, courage, endurance

While the exact historical meaning is uncertain, these themes deeply resonated with me — and ultimately shaped the heart behind Kingold Studios.

So now I’ll ask you, friend:

What is the story behind your name?
